Impasse

Impasse

I'm sure by now you all have noticed the lack of consistent post lately. If you're a hardcore blogger you know that this is essentially the kiss of death for bloggers. At the blogging conferences, the first thing they'll tell you is "Post regularly. Post often"

And so we do. We schedule every second of every day. We spend an unimaginable amount of time trying to find ways to connect with our readers. Those photos that you quickly glance at while skimming our posts have gone through hours of editing. Those post titles required hours of painstaking research. Those witty words were rewritten over and over again.

But then life happens. It's messy and demanding. It has no understanding of consistency.  And so we slip. But we start to breathe a little more easier. We unplug our computers and begin to integrate ourselves back into the real world. But all the while we have that nagging feeling that we're letting years of hard work essentially go to waste.

So for now, I'm stuck at an impasse until I can figure out what needs to be done. I do have a few obligations that I need to take care of. A few promises to follow through with. And then I'll decide where to go from there.

  1. Hey, blogging isn't ever the most important thing...and for some seasons it's significantly less important than it previously was. I can understand having that feeling of letting years of work slip away---but don't let it hang over you!

  2. I've missed you Reese. Because you haven't been showing up in my bloglovin, I went to your blog the other day to just double check I wasn't missing anything. I hope everything is ok. But I just wanted to say I noticed you were gone, and I've definitely missed your posts. Wishing you the best!

  4. I unplugged from my blog a couple of times last year. It is nice to not always be concerned about posting or replying to comments. Hope all is well though.

  7. I love my blogging but if you don't stop to LIVE, you soon run out of things to blog about!! Plus it's amazing how much you laugh and live when you DO take a break. You'll figure out what works for you!

  8. Theresa,

    Don't worry about it.
A woman needs to take her own time and grow at her own pace.
This just means you're a real person and not someone fake.
