DIY T-shirt Scarf// Homemade Christmas 1

DIY T-shirt Scarf// Homemade Christmas 1

Christmas comes but once a year! (unless you're me, in which case you may randomly break out into Christmas songs mid-July).

With yet another Christmas season upon us, it's time to once again brave the crowds at the mall in hopes of finding that "perfect gift." Or not. If you're more like me, perhaps you've been considering a more traditional Christmas. One that doesn't involve X-boxes, iPads and overpriced sweaters. If you are, then you've come to the right place. All month long I'll be showcasing some of my favorite homemade creations.

I'm kicking off this creative party by showcasing my favorite homemade gift, the no-sew, super cheap, chic t-shirt scarf.

For this project you will need:
  • A T-shirt
  • A pair of scissors
This is quite possibly the easiest project you will every make. In fact, if you have a few t-shirts that you no longer want, it is also quite possibility the cheapest.

All you need to do is snip off the bottom hem of the t-shirt and cut about 6-10 2 in strips. Don't worry about making neat cuts.

Next, stretch the strips. The more you stretch, the longer your scarf will be.

Now, roll one of the strips into a small circle. Slide the circle over the remaining stripes and fold the strips over the circle. And viola, you're done!
However, if you want to step it up a notch add some cute modifications and accessories.

If you decide to give this project a go, swing back by and leave me a link so I can stop by and marvel at your style.

Merry Christmas from our home to yours! Be sure to follow along for 12 Days of DIY Christmas!

  1. This sounds like a fun series you've got planned! I always like giving homemade gifts for Christmas--for relative who have "everything" I often err on the side of giving homemade cookies, or something of that sort. Either that or Christmases a little on the more practical side are nice. My Mom bought my little sisters bras and backpacks this Christmas--perhaps not the most thrilling but they really needed both!
