Weekend Wrap-up

Weekend Wrap-up

This weekend was pretty amazing. The kind of weekend that you're thankful-you- bring- your- camera- along- because- every- moment- needs- to- be- captured, kind of amazing. We started off our Saturday by lazily lounging in bed. By 9 a.m. we were still dressed in our pjs, and Mr. A and I were engaged in a battle of the wills on who would make breakfast. He lost. After breakfast we headed out to Pullen Park. It sort of a big deal here. The kind of place where people drive for hours just to get here.

Once we arrived, we understood why it's such a huge deal. Trains, paddle boats, a huge carousel (that moved a bit too fast for my taste), kiddie boats, it's definitely worth a trip or two--or three. After we rode the carousel until Little J's heart was content, and played at the playground, and rode the train, we decided to head back to our place to regroup, and okay, nap...

After naptime, we managed to catch the tail-end of the Spring Fling in Cary, which was also a big deal. Basically everything was free.

And free cotton candy and snow cones definitely makes for a happy mommy. Do people still do peace signs. Oh well, I guess I still do...

We let Little J play in the mosh pit of children wrestling with beach balls. They were a bit rough for my taste. But eventually I calmed down to the point were I was no longer darting into the pit to save my baby. Hey, it happens.

That was Saturday. A fun-filled, gorgeous day of memory making. How was your weekend?

  1. Sounds like you are enjoying the Triangle! Love, love, love Pullen Park. My son asks to go all the time. We'll have to meetup sometime soon. :)

    1. We LOVE it here. I was terrified that we would hate it here, but it turns out it's just the opposite. Charlotte will always have a special place in our hearts because that's where Little J was born, but Raleigh feels like it could be home.

And yes! We must meet! I'm still trying to get us settled, but there are two other bloggy buddies of mine that live here (you might remember Kristen from 4 Hens and a Rooster) that I really want to meet up with. I'm thinking we need to have a mom's night out kind of night! Since you guys are veteran Raleighans, you're going to have to give me the skinny on all the fun places to hang out at. Although, warning, I'm a serious home body. So basically, you'll just have to tell me where all the great libraries and bookstores are lol.

  2. Reese,

I catch myself throwing up peace signs too!! LoL. You are not alone my friend!

  3. Aww, that really looks like an awesome adventure-filled weekend!! And how come they never have free snowcones around here. I think we have a severe lack of free snowcones...

  4. It sounds like a wonderful weekend Reese! I'm looking forward to some quiet here this weekend. Next weekend we'll be back to soccer.

  5. Glad you guys a had a fun weekend and got to enjoy the lovely weather while it lasted!
