Red, White and Blueberry Patriotic Parfait

Red, White and Blueberry Patriotic Parfait

Easy 4th of July Desserts

4th of July is right around the corner, and today I'm sharing the recipe for the simple and beautiful Red White and Blueberry Patriotic Parfait

Summers are a typically time for barbecues, family picnics, and eating outdoors. Now that the kids are home for the Summer, you probably won't have as much time to dedicate to preparing a time-consuming dish. This Red, White and Blueberry Patriotic Parfait is the perfect problem to your cooking woes. Plus it's the perfect dessert to serve at your 4th of July gathering this year!

Patriotic desserts

These Patriotic Parfaits call for strawberries, blueberries, white chocolate pudding and cherry jello. Once the jello has been prepared, it can be made in less than 15 minutes. You can also customize your dessert by adding or subtracting ingredients. Sprinkle a bit of granola on top to add a healthy crunch. Add in a few spoonfuls of chocolate chips for a less healthy (but incredibly yummy) cure for your chocolate addiction. Or replace the pudding with Greek Yogurt. When it comes to this dessert, let your imagination run wild.

Ingredients

(2) boxes of red jello (I used raspberry, but cherry and black cherry work well too)
(2) boxes of white chocolate pudding
(4) cups of cold milk (do not use soy as it will not set)
1 cup of blueberries

Instructions

Prepare your jello according to directions. Set aside. Lightly spray the inside of your parfait glass with vegetable oil.

Pour in ¾-1 cup of jello (depending on what size dish you have) into each of your parfait dishes. Place in fridge for at least an hour, or until firm.

Prepare your pudding according to directions. Immediately pour in ¾-1 cup of pudding into each parfait glass. Allow to set for at least 2 hours. Repeat steps two and three above.

Top with blueberries and serve with a smile!

These parfaits keep well in the fridge for a day or two, so you can prepare it well before your 4th of July festivities so you're not stuck in the kitchen while everyone is outside making memories. You can also make individual parfaits, which are a bit more time consuming, but completely adorable, or stick to a large trifle bowl, like mine, to feed an entire crowd.
