Now that I'm finally on the mend, I'm back in the kitchen and prepping for Christmas parties. I've had this festive holiday dessert idea swirling around in my head for a while, and yesterday I finally had the opportunity to put it to the test.
Of all the recipe ideas I've had in the last year or so (and believe me, they have been plentiful) this was one of my favorites. Not only do they look beautiful, but they taste amazing. After all, what's not to like, white chocolate and Oreo's? Yes please.
These White Chocolate Oreo's are PERFECT for holiday parties or foodie gifts. I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of spending hours in the kitchen, so I love the fact that these cookies look like you've put in quite a bit of time in the kitchen, when in reality, they're super easy to make. That's what I like to call a win-win.
1 cup white chocolate or candy melts
1/4 cup red candy melts
1/4 cup green candy melts
2 teaspoon coconut oil, optional
Place the candy melts in a small microwave-safe bowl and heat for 25 seconds, stir well, and repeat as necessary. Then place one OREO in the bowl and flip with a fork. Let the extra candy drip off the OREO and then set on a sheet of parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Repeat with all OREOs, completely covering each one with white chocolate or candy melts. Allow the white chocolate to set before moving onto the next step of the recipe. Place the red candy melts in a small microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds, stirring well.
Add a teaspoon of coconut oil if needed to get a thin, runny texture. Drizzle the red candy melts over the white chocolate OREOs, then repeat with the green candy melts. Allow to dry completely before serving or packaging for gifts.
