A Bit of Love to the World Today

A Bit of Love to the World Today

This morning I randomly woke up at 2:00 AM. I suppose that's not exactly unusual when you're 4 month pregnant. I opened up my phone and saw the latest news alert about the shooting in Las Vegas. At that time, the death toll was only at 2. I went back to sleep praying it wouldn't go any higher.

When I woke up this morning to get Little J ready for school, the toll had jumped to 50. By the end of the day that number will likely climb again.

I'm not going to use this space to delve into another political meandering about the current state of affairs. The country is still processing and in pain. People need time to heal before we venture there. Today, I'm just taking a bit of time out of my day, and a bit of space on my blog to say that I'm sending an extra bit of love to Las Vegas, and the world today.

I'm regretting my curtness with my kiddo as I prepared to send her off into the world today. This morning was another sharp reminder that life is short. When she gets home today, I'll hug her a little longer and a little harder.

Truthfully, there's not much we can do for the people of Las Vegas today, except hold them up in prayer and keep them in our thoughts, but in our personal lives, maybe we can love our people just a bit harder today. There are currently 50 people in Las Vegas that will never have that opportunity again.

With love and prayers,

Reese
