Lazy Days and Jasmine's Nursery.

Lazy Days and Jasmine's Nursery.

I love lazy weekends. Although, now that I'm a mother, those days are about as common as seeing Paris Hilton in church. Our day pretty much consisted of getting a head start on spring cleaning. Thanks to my new found love, pinterest, I've been able to make some great space-saving changes around our apartment.

When we first moved into our tiny apartment, I though all hope was lost.  All my dreams of having a beautiful, spacious living area were dashed, but since I've started shopping around, I've started to see that there are so many options available for smaller places. One of my favorite places to shop as of late has been Ikea. If you've never shopped at Ikea, it's a great place to go if you're remodeling on a tight budget. In fact most of the things I got for my daughters nursery were Ikea purchases. Check it out:

The bookcase, flower nightlights, stuffed animal holders, and pullout bed were all brought at Ikea. The best deal, by far, had to have been the bed. Unlike futons, this actually pulls out and lays down like an actual full size bed. And also unlike futons, it was extremely affordable. When we did our price comparisions, most futons ranged from $200.00-$300.00. This bed cost $171.00, and as a bonus, sleeps two comfortably,  has storage space underneath, and is a thousand times more comfortable than a futon. Awesome.

Don't be mistaken, Jasmine's room is by far the best room in the apartment. The rest is pretty much plain and boring, but the way I look at it, it's a blank slate just waiting to be filled.

So if you guys have any creative space-saving tips for small spaces, drop me a line in my comment box. Until next time :)
